When I wanted a quick, easy, and high-protein breakfast that didn’t require cooking, then I started making this cottage cheese berry breakfast bowl. Cottage cheese becomes a yummy breakfast with the addition of fresh berries, a drizzle of honey, and some crunchy granola.

Ingredients required for this recipe
- 1 cup (225g) cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
- 1/2 cup (75g) fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup (75g) fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (30g) granola
- 1 tablespoon (10g) chia seeds or ground flaxseed (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- A pinch of cinnamon, for garnish
You can also add seasonal fruits according to your preference.

Step-by-step instructions
Prep the berries: wash all the berries properly and slice them. set aside
Whip the cottage cheese: this step is optional but recommended. Add a cottage cheese to a bowl and whisk for 20-30 seconds, until it turns light and creamy
Add vanilla. If you are using vanilla extract, then add it and mix it until combined.
Assemble the bowl. Spoon the whipped cottage cheese into serving bowl and spread it into even layer
Arrange the sliced strawberries and berries over the top
Add crunch and sweetness. the top with the crunch granola and chia seeds evenly. Then drizzle honey over everything.
Finish and serve. Dust with a pinch of cinnamon and serve immediately for best texture and taste.
Tip: Add granola right before eating — if it sits too long in the bowl, it will soften from the moisture in the cottage cheese and berries.
